Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from NHS clinical leaders and technology teams.

Implementation timelines vary depending on the scope and your existing infrastructure, but a typical NHS Trust deployment takes between 8 and 16 weeks from contract signature to go-live. This includes discovery and scoping (2–3 weeks), integration and configuration (4–8 weeks), clinical validation and staff training (2–4 weeks), and a monitored go-live period. We assign a dedicated implementation manager to every NHS Trust partner throughout this process.

Yes. MediPulse AI has achieved full compliance with the NHS Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) and the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, meeting all 10 standards at the highest level. We undergo annual DTAC assessment and our compliance documentation β€” including our DPIA, clinical safety case, and security risk assessment β€” is available to NHS procurement teams on request. We are also ISO 27001 certified and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited.

MediPulse AI integrates natively with the major NHS clinical information systems including EMIS Health, SystmOne, Epic (where deployed in NHS trusts), Lorenzo, RiO, and Cerner Millennium. We use HL7 FHIR R4 APIs and SNOMED CT / OPCS-4 coding standards to ensure seamless interoperability. Our integration team has experience across all major NHS IT architectures and works closely with local IT teams during deployment.

Patient data protection is central to everything we do. All data is stored exclusively in UK-based data centres (Microsoft Azure UK South and UK West). We apply pseudonymisation and AES-256 encryption at rest and in transit. Access controls follow the principle of least privilege, with full audit trails of all data access. We never use identifiable patient data for model training without explicit data processing agreements and ethical approval. Our full Data Protection Impact Assessment is available on request.

We provide comprehensive training at every level of clinical and administrative staff. This includes live training sessions for clinical leads and super-users, e-learning modules for all system users (available 24/7 via our training portal), on-site training days during the go-live period, and ongoing refresher training for new staff joiners. All training is designed by our clinical team and can be accredited for CPD. We also provide a 24/7 help desk for NHS Trust partners during the first 90 days post go-live.
